The Israeli government has approved a cease-fire deal with Hamas, set to begin on Sunday. The agreement includes the release of dozens of hostages and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, following extensive negotiations and votes. Palestinians are hopeful for peace, while Israelis anticipate the return of their abducted loved ones. The six-week truce will see Israeli forces withdraw from populated areas, and Hamas will release 33 hostages, mostly women and older individuals.

This deal marks a significant moment in the 15-month conflict, although it brings emotional challenges and uncertainties. Families, like that of 84-year-old Oded Lifshitz, one of the hostages, face a complex mix of anticipation and anxiety, as they prepare for the return of their loved ones amid ongoing tensions. People have begun to celebrate as bloodshed has finally been paused.
