TUKWILA, Wash. — A crash on the State Route 599/Interurban overpass Friday morning caused a Toyota Highlander to plummet onto northbound Interstate 5, leaving one man dead and six others injured, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). Troopers say the driver of the SUV, who had two passengers at the time, will be booked for felony hit-and-run once medically cleared. One passenger died, while the other suffered life-threatening injuries. Three additional vehicles on I-5 were involved in the crash when the SUV fell from the overpass, but no serious injuries were reported among those drivers, WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said. Investigators are working to determine whether speed or other factors contributed to the Highlander hitting the overpass wall before veering off the roadway. The crash shut down four left lanes of northbound I-5 at SR 599, leaving only the right lane open. By 12:52 p.m., traffic was backed up nearly six miles. The left lane on the overpass ramp from northbound I-5 to SR 599 was also blocked due to the rollover crash
