Western Washington is facing significant winter weather this week, with snow beginning early Wednesday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 10 a.m. Thursday, covering areas such as Olympia, Hoquiam, Shelton, Tacoma, Seattle, Bellevue, Lynnwood, and Everett. Snow accumulations of 1-2 inches are possible, with slippery roads expected, particularly during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Snow showers will continue into Thursday morning, and freezing temperatures could lead to widespread icy conditions. Snow should end before sunrise Thursday, but flurries are expected to return later in the week, with little to no accumulation. A Cold Weather Advisory is also in place for Whatcom County until 10 a.m. Wednesday, with wind chills ranging from 5 to 15 degrees.
