Seattle police are investigating three deadly shootings that hit the Belltown neighborhood over Labor Day weekend, leaving three people dead and four others wounded. About ninety minutes later, another shooting happened a few blocks away at 3rd Avenue and Blanchard Street. Police found a woman inside a car with gunshot wounds to her head and torso. She was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries. Early Monday morning, a third shooting occurred at Elliott Avenue and Bell Street near the pedestrian bridge to Pier 66. A fight led to gunfire that killed a seventeen‑year‑old boy and seriously injured a twenty‑one‑year‑old man. Neighbors said the area feels like a battleground, with gunfire becoming more common. Police have not announced any arrests in any of the cases, and detectives are asking witnesses to come forward as the investigations continue.
