A Palm Beach County dentist, 63‑year‑old Sergey Korol, was arrested on June 21 after deputies said he held a woman captive during a violent, hours‑long domestic incident. According to the sheriff’s office, the confrontation began the morning of June 20 after drinking and an argument, escalating into accusations, threats, and physical violence. The victim told investigators that Korol tased her repeatedly, struck and choked her, and restrained her with rope and straps on both a chair and a bed. Deputies documented injuries consistent with her account, including bruising, abrasions, and swelling.

The report states that Korol also retrieved a revolver, threatened to kill the victim, and fired a shot next to her face inside the home. The situation calmed briefly, allowing the victim to secretly contact a family member, who alerted authorities. Deputies coordinated her safe escape once Korol left the room, and he was arrested without further incident. The victim was treated at a hospital for multiple injuries. Korol remained in custody with a $130,000 bond, and a risk protection order was filed. Officials emphasized that domestic violence can affect anyone and highlighted the importance of victim support services during crises.
