EVERETT, Wash. — A man is under investigation after a violent break-in led to multiple stabbings inside an Everett home Monday morning, leaving two people critically injured.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of 112th Street Southwest at approximately 9:03 a.m. following reports of a disturbance.

Preliminary information indicates that a 20-year-old man arrived at the home and knocked on the front door. When no one answered, he is accused of forcing his way inside. Once inside, investigators say the suspect attacked several people, stabbing multiple victims during the encounter.

Amid the chaos, a 22-year-old man inside the residence stepped in and confronted the attacker. Authorities say he managed to subdue the suspect by placing him in a chokehold, preventing further harm. He continued restraining the suspect until deputies arrived and took the man into custody.

Emergency responders provided aid at the scene before transporting two of the victims to Providence Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Their current conditions have not been released. The individual who detained the suspect did not suffer serious injuries, though officials say the situation could have been far worse without his intervention.

Investigators have not yet released details about a possible motive or whether the suspect and victims knew each other. The circumstances leading up to the incident, including why the home may have been targeted, remain unclear.

Authorities say the case is still active, and additional information is expected as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview those involved. Residents in the area may notice an increased law enforcement presence while the investigation continues.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
